Description: This course addresses the high costs of pain for United States patients—in terms of lost productivity, healthcare expense and quality of life. In its five modules, the course covers the pathophysiology of pain, the differences between acute pain and chronic pain, the different types of chronic pain and pain management for cancer patients. Throughout the five modules, the course describes the different approaches‚ including best practices and potential risks—for both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment.
